I ALSO SELL MICROWORM KITS WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR YOUR CULTURE IN MY STORE, CHECK IT OUT!
I make these cultures FRESH right when you order and immediately ship out
This is a tiny microscopic LIVE food high in fats and protein to feed newborn fish fry thats relatively easy to keep, my guppy fry love them!
You will receive one partially full 8oz BPA-Free jar of microworms (they need room for air) with metal rust free lid. Very easy to puncture air holes into(I used a push pin) and cover with a paper towel so your culture can breathe once you receive it
These should be ready to use right out of the jar after a few days of breathing air OR after re-culturing to new food base (make sure to keep them moist not soupy or it will mould)
If you re-culture correctly your worms should be ready to use in 3-7 days! Sometimes it can take up to 2 weeks to see a thriving culture depending on how well they traveled in the mail (cold can slow their breeding process down quite a bit!) please be patient there are microscopic baby worms in the culture even if you see no movement at first!!
if you see any mold when you create new cultures use less water and scrape off any mold you see or start a new culture avoid scraping the mold when transferring to new container
Please give your culture time and contact me if you need help! You have to understand with any live animals in the mail there is a chance for failure but I'm willing to help. I can send out a new culture (bag of microworms only) if your culture is truly ruined upon delivery. You must pay for shipping however of replacement worms!
Thank you for choosing my store!
These will ship in a box so I can't offer free shipping I'm sorry about that!
Other Microworm sellers ship in tiny bags in envelopes and the package sometimes busts, you don't have to worry about that with my worms!
WORM CARE:
Needed: Small container- ex. plastic Tupperware, empty yogurt container etc. Holes in top covered by cotton or chiffon cloth. Instant mash Potato flake or oatmeal for base
Setup- mix potato flake or oatmeal to consistency of moist soft dough, put at bottom of container. Spoon on starter culture and spread gently over the top of medium. Keep at 68 - 85 F degrees for best results. You may need to stir the culture 1/week to release gas bubbles
Feeding Culture- food medium base feeds the worms, or feed Nutritional yeast(just a few grains of yeast) once at start of new culture to get it really going fast
Feeding to Fish- Microworms will climb up the sides of the container. Swipe the side with a moist QTip or just your finger. Swirl into fish tank. Try not to feed too many.
(Use pipette for direct feedings, comes with my kit)
Notes- Restart the culture monthly or when it looks runny or starting to smell real bad, a yeasty smell is normal in a healthy culture, a rotting smell is not. Mold is a NO
Your culture will last for a LONG time as long as you keep it going! Your fish will THANK YOU! 🐟 🦈🐠
